Thomas L. Dailey

Thomas L. Dailey, 76, was born Sept. 24, 1940, in Michigan, and passed away Sept. 3, 2017, in Hinsdale, IL. Beloved husband of Carole J. (nee Andres); loving father of Kirsten (Mark) Harvey, Michael (Miki), Thomas and the late Paul; dear grandfather of Sam, Eliza, Jessica and Quinn Harvey and Shion and Hugo Dailey; fond brother of Gerald (Gertrude) Dailey and the late James. After graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in police administration, Tom worked at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center as Director of Hospital Security. He retired as manager for Bowen Ace Hardware where he worked for 40 years, retiring at the age of 75. He effortlessly made friends everywhere he went, got along with everyone and enjoyed life to the hilt. His family was his life. He was so very proud of everything his children, grandchildren and their families did. Memorial visitation Friday, Sept. 8, 4 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 8 p.m. at Matz Funeral Home, 410 E. Rand Road, Mount Prospect. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, or the Cradle in Evanston appreciated.
