Madeline Fote, nee Amato, age 100, passed away peacefully in the arms of her family on January 6, 2018. Beloved wife of 77 years to John Fote, recognized in 2016 as the longest married couple living in the state of Illinois. Loving mother of Mary (Peter) Skittone and Alfred (Victoria) Fote. A native of Philadelphia, she moved to Mt. Prospect in 2002 to be closer to her daughter and four cherished grandchildren, John Skittone and Karen (Angelo) Petratos and the late Peter (Brenda) and Joseph Skittone. She was the proud great-grandmother of Angela, Mary Rose, Amanda, Genevieve, Michael, Joseph, and Cecelia Skittone and David and Laura Petratos. Madeline worked as a seamstress at Isabelle Manufacturing Company from 1934 until the birth of her daughter in 1942. A skilled dressmaker, she stayed active making dresses, suits, and clothes for her family for seven decades. Madeline was predeceased by her nine older brothers. She was the beloved aunt of seventeen nieces and nephews and special aunt to Angela Kotowich (Amato).Visitation Friday, Jan.12, 2018 from 3-9pm at Matz Funeral Home 410 E. Rand Road, Mt.Prospect. Lying in state Saturday, Jan.13, 2018 from 9:30am until time of Mass 10:30am at St. Thomas Becket Church, 1321 Burning Bush Lane, Mt.Prospect. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
