Leszek Brej

June 11, 1963 - February 8, 2022

Leszek Brej, born on June 11, 1963, was a beloved husband, father, brother, and a friend to many. He is survived by his wife Margaret, his son Filip, and his daughter Magda. He passed away peacefully on February 8, 2022 while surrounded by family in the comfort of his home after bravely battling pancreatic cancer for two years.  Leszek grew up in Poland and went to study veterinary science in Warsaw, later switching to a career in computer science. Having moved to Chicago from Poland more than 30 years ago, Leszek made endless sacrifices to create a life that led him to meeting and marrying his wife Margaret, and that allowed him to raise the family he has today. He was a devoted father and husband, and loved nothing more than spending quality time with his family, whether it was week long road trips across the country, or a movie night in the living room. There wasn't a person in the world that couldn't create a bond within minutes of meeting him, and he had a remarkable ability to put a smile on anyone's face even on their worst of days.  Visitation will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Matz Mt. Prospect Funeral Chapel 410 E. Rand Road, Mt. Prospect, IL 60056. Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022 at St. Thomas Becket Catholic Church.
