Bernadette M. Schoessling (nee Sullivan), 89, passed away Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, at home. She was born Jan. 7, 1927, in Chicago. Bernadette was a graduate of Notre Dame High School for Girls. She received her Bachelor of Library Science Degree from Rosary College. She was a retired librarian from Mt. Prospect Library. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Emily Parish. She devoted her life to raising her family in the Catholic faith. Bernadette was the beloved wife of the late Paul for 44 years; loving mother of Paul (Jamie), Ann (Andy) Pedersen, Joan (Tom) Hegberg, Jim (Colleen), Dan (Kelly) and the late Mary Beth; dear grandmother of Megan, Paul, Kelly, Brendan, Kevin, Sean, Danny, David, Mary Grace, Tommy, Jack, Matthew, Ryan, Maggie, Jeremy, Mary Kate, Elizabeth and Kennedy; fond sister of Jerry (Nancy) Sullivan and the late Rev. Thomas Sullivan, the late John (Mary) Sullivan and the late Nancy Sullivan. Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 14, from 3 to 8 p.m., at Matz Funeral Home, 410 E. Rand Road, Mount Prospect. Prayers will be held on Monday, Aug. 15 at 9:30 a.m., from the funeral home to St. Emily Church, 1400 E. Central Rd., Mt. Prospect, for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
