Anna Marie Michaels Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Anna Marie Michaels, 89, of Elk Grove Village, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. She was born on September 8, 1932 in Chicago to John and Elizabeth (Sanger) Berger, the 8th of twelve children. She married her husband of 34 years, Jiggs E. Michaels, in Evanston on May 11, 1959. The couple lived in Chicago and Arlington Heights and were very social. Although the couple had no children, Annie and Jiggs were very family-oriented and had close relationships their numerous nieces and nephews. Annie was always the life of the party. She was a beautiful redhead who was always dressed to the nines. She had a great laugh, was always happy, and loved a good time. She loved to dance, and was an instructor at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio. Annie was also a very religious woman, and became very involved in St. Edna Catholic Church after she and Jiggs moved to Arlington Heights. Her joyous spirit will be missed by all. Annie is survived by her sisters, Helen (Sam) Luburich, and Dolores “Lolly” Gehrke; as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jiggs; brothers, Jake (Angie), John, Joe (Marilyn), Pete, Ed (Lois), and Frank; sisters, Marie, Pauline “Lena,” and Josephine “Josie” (Jim) Bergman. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, from 9-10am. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place immediately following visitation. Interment will be held following Mass at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2501 E Euclid Ave., Arlington Heights. Per the family’s request, all guests are required to wear masks to the visitation and Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Edna Catholic Church.
