Stanislaw "Stanley" Gieron

Stanislaw "Stanley" Gieron, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2024 at the age of 80. Born in Poland, Stanley moved to America in 1975, seeking new opportunities and a better life. In early 1978, Stanley met the love of his life, Janina Plachta, through mutual friends. Their shared Polish heritage and many common friends quickly brought them together. Their love story blossomed, and together, they raised two kind and genuine children, Wojtek and Beata. They started their family in Chicago and later settled in Mt. Prospect. Stanley dedicated over 28 years of his life to working at St. Emily's, where he left a lasting impression on all who attended the school and church. His meticulous nature and ability to fix almost anything made him a beloved figure in the community. In 2005, the city of Mount Prospect honored him with the "Unsung Hero Award" and the "Shining Star" award, a testament to his selfless dedication and service. Known for his generosity and willingness to help others, Stanley gave freely of his time to friends and family. He was an active member of the Polish community, serving as Vice President of the Polish club Lisia Gora, where he made many lifelong friends. Stanley is survived by his devoted wife, Janina Gieron; his son, Al (Eva) Turek, and their children, Victoria and Joe; his daughter, Beatrice (Gary) Munson, and their children, Nikolas, Lizzy, Maddie, Annabel, and Mason; his siblings Helena, Bogda, and Kasey; and his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Bieda, many other friends and family will also mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jan Gieron and Zofia Pytel, and his brother, Edward. Stanley's kindness, dedication, and love for his family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of hard work, generosity, and commitment to those he loved will continue to inspire and guide his family and friends. A funeral service to honor Stanley's life will be Saturday, July 06, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at Matz Mt Prospect Funeral Chapel; 410 E. Rand Rd, Mt Prospect, IL 60056. Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. at St Emily Catholic Church; 1400 E. Central Rd, Mt Prospect, IL 60056. Entombment to follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if you would like to donate to the family, they will make a donation to the Autism foundation and to families that are struggling with Dimentia.
