Richard Henry Kramer

Richard (Rich) H. Kramer, beloved Dad, Papa, Great Papa, friend & Uncle passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025 at the age of 84. Born on April 16, 1941 in Chicago, Rich lived a full life marked by love, laugher and unwavering loyalty. A proud tradesman, Rich made his career as an offset printer known in the trade by the nickname "Stripper". He approached his work with dedication and precision much like the way he lived his life. Rich was preceded in death by Brenda Kramer. He was the proud Father of Carrie (Mike) Heer, Kristine (Brian) McMorrow. Proud Papa of Steven (Carolina) Heer, Derek (Kat) Heer, Karly, Kelly & Tommy McMorrow. Proud Great Papa of Silas Heer. Fond Uncle and Friend to many. He found a new kind of joy when his great grandson, Silas came into the world, making him a Great Papa, a role he absolutely adored. He also shared a special friendship with Carole Pyter who brought warmth and companionship to his life. Known for his quick wit, clever comebacks and knack for mixing up his words in the most hilarious ways, Rich had a gift for making people laugh and feel at ease. His storytelling was legendary, funny, sharp and full of heart. Rich was loyal to a fault, generous with his time and always punctual. Whatever anyone needed, Rich was there. Above all, he was the BEST Dad deeply devoted to his family. Nothing brought him more youth and happiness than spending time in his Great Papa role enjoying his great grandson, Silas and also times spent with his grandchildren enjoying their regular Papa dinners along with countless other banterings and events. Celebration of life will be Friday, August 22 at 11:30am - 2:30pm at Matz Funeral Home in Mt. Prospect with internment at Ridgewood cemetery in Des Plaines.
