Perpetua Reiter

Perpetua Reiter, 84, of Mount Prospect, Illinois passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, while under hospice care at The Moorings of Arlington Heights, Illinois. LIFE Perpetua was born on June 5, 1939, in Karamurat, Romania to Benigna Mueller (Ruscheinski) and Mathias Mueller. She was one of five children. In her youth, Perpetua and her family lived in Austria and Germany before they immigrated to the United States in 1955, settling in Chicago, Illinois. She met her husband, Norbert Reiter, while working at a local grocery store and they were married in May of 1963. Norbert and Perpetua were blessed to start a family, having three children, Michael, Tina, and Kenneth. The Reiter family enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends and family, and being active in the Chicago Kickers Soccer Club, Shabbona Park Athletics, and Saint Priscilla Catholic School and Parish. Throughout her life, Perpetua was fond of cooking, traveling, and gardening. The traditional meals that she lovingly prepared will not be forgotten. FAMILY Perpetua is survived by: Her two brothers, Alois and Adolf; Her elder son, Michael, and his wife Hannah, and her two sons, Boyd and Lincoln; Her daughter, Tina, and her three children, Courtney, Dakotah, and MacKenzie; and her younger son, Kenneth, and his wife Kristin, and their two children, Madeleine and Claudia. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, sister Felizitas, and brother Anthony. Sadly, her husband of 60 years, Norbert, passed away in June of 2023. Perpetua wanted all her grandchildren to know how much she loved each of them, how very proud she was of all of them, and that she wished for all their dreams to come true. Funeral Mass The funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Saint Raymond de Peñafort Catholic Church located at 301 S I-Oka Street, Mount Prospect, IL 60056, Phone: 847 253 8600. Visitation at 10am and Mass at 11am. Burial and Reception Following the funeral mass, the burial will be held at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery at 3100 North Thatcher Avenue, River Grove, IL 60171, Phone: 708 453 0184 The reception will be held at Edelweiss Restaurant at 7650 W Irving Park Rd, Norridge, IL 60706 Phone: 708 452 6040.
