Jenny Kim

It is with immense sadness that the Kim family announce the passing of Jenny Kuna Kim, 52, of Bolingbrook, IL. Jenny passed away peacefully on Easter Monday at 3:05pm, surrounded by her loved ones. Jenny was born on May 6th, 1970, in Daegu, South Korea to Man Sung Kim and Jung Ja Kim. After graduating from Main East High School, she went on to study Nutrition at Northern Illinois University. Jenny always had a propensity to help others, which led her to Nursing school at the Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio. Jenny worked as a Registered Nurse (RN) at Rush Copley Medical Center in the Gastroenterology Department and then at Edward Hospital in the GI/Endoscopy Unit. She spent decades caring for others, along with members of her family, work, and community. Jenny enjoyed attending daily Mass at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church and would often visit the Community of St. John in Princeville, IL. She was involved with multiple Catholic charities, including Unbound, where she gave continued financial support to a child who is now in college. She was also a member of the Healing Prayer Group at St. Elizabeth Seton and was described as a humble and holy soul. Jenny embodied what it meant to truly live in the body of Christ. Jenny was diagnosed with Stage IV adenocarcinoma located in the stomach, ovary, and peritoneum in June 2022. Throughout her illness and treatment, she always maintained a positive outlook and continued to care for others. She had unwavering faith and trust in our Lord. Her love and devotion to God, family members, friends, co-workers, and others were unsurpassed. Jenny is survived by her parents, Man Sung Joseph Kim, and Jung Ja Maria Kim, her brothers, Andrew, and Nicholas (Judith), her nieces Eva, Emelia, Ella, Ashley, and her nephew Harry. Jenny’s family would like to thank all her friends and co-workers, for their prayers, help, support, understanding, and love during her illness. We will never forget all that you’ve done.
